We would like your child’s transition to our school to be as smooth and rewarding as possible and we work hard to create a firm partnership between home and school.
Children will be admitted to Wisdom World School in June at the age of 3 years. Younger children of Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Prep will attend school only from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Transition can be made easier by talking positively about the school, walking past the school at different times so that your child can see the building as a familiar place.
The curriculum during these years is grounded in active learning. Through practical activities, purposeful play and talk, students develop an understanding of the world and the basic concepts they will need for later learning. Parents can play a major role in fostering good attitudes to learning, developing language skills and promoting good behaviour.
Students of classes I to X will attend school from 8.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. The curriculum for Stds. I to IV aims at developing children’s personal, social and emotional well-being; promotes positive attitudes and disposition towards their learning; provides opportunities to develop social skills as well as developing language and communication, Reading and Writing, Maths, Science, knowledge and understanding of the world; and physical and creative development.
Children have many opportunities to express themselves through drawing, painting, collage and model making. They will work collaboratively with a partner or a group. They will learn and sing new songs and rhymes, participate in cultural displays and learn the nuances of speech and drama. This will instill a sense of confidence in each child at an early stage.
In Stds. 4, 5, 6 and 7 we start gearing for the I.C.S.E. curriculum. The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination and prepares students for the I.C.S.E. Examination (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education). English (language and literature) is given the greatest weightage in the curriculum and it is compulsory for a student to pass in this subject.
The School maintains high standards in all aspects of education. Although academics will be given top priority in the curriculum, the development of the child will not be neglected. Through the house system, healthy competition is encouraged in a variety of activities held on an on-going basis throughout the year.
Besides sports, cultural activities and theatre, students of Stds. VIII, IX and X are prepared for the I.C.S.E. Examinations.
The school prepares students for the Indian Council School Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (Std. X).
