Rules & Regulations

One of the most important aspects of education is discipline which should eventually come from within. Discipline is the training that develops self-control, orderliness, efficiency and character.

Basic to all discipline is the principle of respect - respect for oneself, for others and for all children. The school expects students to maintain the highest standard of discipline, decorum, punctuality, neatness and responsible behaviour both in the classroom and during co-curricular activities of the school.

Matters of discipline are dealt with initially by the class teacher. When the situation demands, the Principal takes responsibility for disciplinary measures. At all times students are encouraged to consider and be responsible for their own actions.

Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, insubordination, misbehaviour, obscenity in any form and dishonesty are sufficient reasons for the expulsion of a student.

Students should refrain from activities, which may disturb the orderly use of the school. In case of a serious breakdown of conduct, the Principal seeks to assess the situation with parents. Any breach of school rules will entail punishment such as suspension or termination of admission. The Principal can, in the interest of the school and without assigning any reason, ask a parent to remove a child, at or previous to the end of the current term, should her/his conduct, behaviour or influence, in the Principal’s opinion, be detrimental to the principles of the school, or should she/he seem unable or unwilling to profit by the educational advantages of the school.

Absence From School:

The school does not look too kindly upon uncalled for absences. Students absenting themselves for more than a month without sanction of leave are liable to have their names struck off the rolls.

Students should not be kept away from school except for illness. Infectious diseases, if any, should invariably be notified immediately to the Principal. To ensure your child’s safety, a member of the staff may call you on the first day of absence for monitoring purposes. Absence from any examination will ordinarily be allowed on medical grounds, supported by a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.

Returning To School After Illness:

Children should be fit to participate in all schools activities including outdoor games and playtime. Injury, respiratory complaints or circulation difficulties are, of course, exceptions.
